Hyatt Advertising in Redlands promoted Mark Faus to senior art director. Faus joined the firm in 2004 and has worked on a variety of accounts.
Perry Design & Advertising in Rancho Cucamonga has promoted Bethany Catron to marketing and research development associate. Catron is a senior at Azusa Pacific University. She completed her internship with the agency in August.

Desert Commercial Bank in Palm Desert has named Tony J. Swartz as president and chief executive officer. Most recently, Swartz was president and CEO of Fresno First Bank. Swartz succeeds R. Albert "Al" Roensch, who was Desert Commercial Bank's first CEO.
Temecula Valley Bancorp Inc. appointed David H. Bartram as president of its SBA Division. Bartram most recently managed the Small Business Administration Division of U.S. Bank.
Hospitality
Pyramid Hotel Group LLC a Boston-based hotel development, management and ownership firm, has hired Davis Sezna as president of La Quinta Resort & Club and PGA West. Sezna previously was president and chief executive officer of Tandem Hospitality, a consulting firm.
Manufacturing
Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Corona named Mark W. Durand as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Durand most recently was chief financial officer and senior vice president of finance and business development for Teva Pharmaceuticals N.A.
Media
Outdoor Channel Holdings Inc. in Temecula named Scott Mann to the new position of vice president, outdoor affinity marketing. Mann previously was director of business development at IAC Interactive Corp.
Meanwhile, Outdoor Channel announced the appointment of Shad L. Burke as its chief accounting officer. A certified public accountant, Burke most recently worked for Dot Hill Systems Corp.
Water
Basin Water in Rancho Cucamonga appointed Orlando A. Carreño as vice president, Western Region. He joined Basin Water in 2002 as an account manager and later served as business development manager.
In August, Marvin Shaw was appointed as new general manager of San Bernardino Valley Water Conservation District. Shaw formerly served as a senior manager for the water resources engineering firm Bookman - Edmonston with extensive water and land management experience.
Aquacell Water Inc. in Rancho Cucamonga hired Mark Wittgraf as vice president of engineering. A registered engineer in California, Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico, Wittgraf has 23 years of civil engineering experience, with an expertise in water system design and ground water treatment systems.
Kudos
Cecilia A. Conrad, an associate dean at Pomona College, has been selected by Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez to serve on the U.S. Census Bureau's Advisory Committee on the African-American population. Conrad is an economist whose primary research interest is in economic impacts of race and gender, urban economies and labor market trends.
PMA Advertising and Public Relations Inc. in Palm Springs won several PRiSM Awards presented by the Desert Sales and Marketing Council of the Building Industry Association/Southern California Chapter. The awards recognize the building industry's sales and marketing efforts for new home development in the Coachella and Imperial valleys. PMA collected honors for two brochures and a newspaper advertisement.
Printing Resources of Southern California in Upland was recognized for its printing excellence by Certified Printers International at its annual Production Manager conference in Denver.
The American Dental Association commission on Dental accreditation has elected James Koelbl to a one-year term as vice chairman. The term runs through October 2008. Koelbl is dean of the Western University of Health Sciences College of Dentistry in Pomona. He also has been elected as chair of the American Dental Education Association / American Association of Dental Research National Oral Health Advocacy Committee.
The Palm Springs Walk of Stars appointed Karl Anderson to the board of directors. Anderson has owned a public accounting and fiduciary service practice in Palm Springs since 1979.
Tim Scott, of the Palm Springs office of A.G. Edwards, recently earned the designation of certified financial planner professional. He completed a series of financial planning courses and exams.
