Agriculture
Index Fresh in Bloomington hired John Dmytriw as sales director. Dmytriw spent the last 7½ years at West Pak Avocado in Temecula.
Education
Los Angeles-based DeVry University has appointed Bill Van Zwol as metro president of DeVry University Southern California and campus president of DeVry University Pomona. Van Zwol is a 19-year leadership veteran with DeVry University, most recently having held the post of metro president for DeVry's Dallas/Fort Worth area locations.
Bonnie O'Connor has been named the new director of development in the College of Business and Public Administration at California State University, San Bernardino. Most recently O'Connor was a consultant for various nonprofit organizations under her own O'Connor Consulting Services.
Finance
Joseph Hayes has been appointed as vice president and commercial banking officer for Rabobank N.A. in Palm Springs. Hayes previously was a project manager with a local real estate developer and before that served as general manager of Shea Homes in La Quinta.
Wells Fargo has hired Elizabeth Alt as store manager of the new branch at Ontario Mills.
Alt began her Wells Fargo career in 1994 as a phone banker in El Monte. Most recently she was manager of the Wells Fargo Upland Colonies banking store.
Hospitality
Morongo Casino Resort & Spa in Cabazon announced a series of hirings, including Jemma Jacques as training manager, Anupam Singhal as casino marketing manager and Ray James as director of player development. Most recently, Jacques worked for the Beverley Hilton Hotel. Singhal most recently worked as the database marketing manager for the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. James comes to Morongo from Station Casinos in Las Vegas.
Information technology
Auto-Graphics Inc. in Pomona hired industry veterans Ted Koppel and Mary Clark.
Koppel is product manager for integrated library systems. He previously worked at Ex Libris. Mary Clark is product manager for user interface. She previously worked for the Wisconsin State Library.
Media
David Bolls joined Outdoor Channel in Temecula as assistant general counsel. Most recently, Bolls served as corporate legal counsel for Tenacity Entertainment and Extreme Sports Channel.Outdoor Channel in Temecula hired John Fabian as senior vice president of ad sales, Eastern region. Fabian most recently was senior vice president of Eastern sales at United Stations Radio Networks in New York.
Water
Basin Water in Rancho Cucamonga hired Mark S. Rogers as sales manager, West region. Most recently Rogers was business development manager for Siemens Water Technologies.
Basin meanwhile named Scott A. Katzmann as chairman of the board of directors. Katzmann has served as senior managing director at Paramount BioCapital, a boutique investment banking firm in New York City, since 1993.
Kudos
Riverside-based Altura Credit Union was honored as among the "Best Places to Work" in California by the Employers Group. Altura received an honorable mention in the category for companies of 100 to 499 employees for its employee benefits and human resources practices.
For You Network presented the "Best Business Web site" award to Kay Presto, owner of Presto Productions in Ontario. Her Web site, www.shirts4seniors.com sells apparel with the logo "I'm a sensational senior." You Network is a business network for women.
Manny Sanchez, president of Terra Solutions Inc. in Riverside, was sworn in as the newest member of the city's Board of Public Utilities March 7. Sanchez fills the spot left vacant after James Anderson finished his second term on the board after eight years of service.
